Mahoning Township Sanitary Sewer Project Construction

The Department of Environmental Protection approved the sanitary sewer design on April 4,2008

All permits for the sewer system, pump stations, and treatment plant were secured on May 19, 2008

The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, more commonly referred to as PennVest, granted the Township a $10,000,000 loan at an interest rate of 1% for 30 years and a $1,000,000 grant in July of 2008.

An additional $5,000,000 grant was received in August of 2009 from the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority through an H2O grant.

The township bid the project in January of 2010.  Upon review by the solicitor, Attorney Lou Perrotta, and their municipal engineer, R.A.R. engineering group inc. the contracts were awarded to:
A.P. O'Horo Company- Treatment plant general construction

Enertech Electrical, Inc.- Electrical work for the treatment plant and sanitary sewer pump stations

Chivers Construction Co.- Sanitary sewer lines

G.B. Sand Company, Inc.- Electrical work for the sanitary sewer pump station
