MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING ON JANUARY 3, 2022
The Mahoning Township Supervisors held their annual reorganizational meeting on Monday, January 3, 2022 at approximately 10:20 a.m. in the meeting room of the Mahoning Township building located at 453 West State Street, Edinburg, PA 16116.
ROLL CALL was taken by Jean Greco, Secretary/Treasurer. Members present were: Mark Sackin, Gary Pezzuolo, and Vito Yeropoli. Also, on the call were Solicitor Lou Perrotta, Engineer Greg DelPrincipe, and Police Chief Robert Sipe.
Newly appointed Chairman Yeropoli asked for any guest speakers.
Yeropoli made a motion to ADOPT THE MINUTES of the December 14, 2021 final budget meeting minutes and the motion was seconded by Pezzuolo with a vote of all in favor. Yeropoli made a motion to adopt the minutes of the regular meeting minutes for December 14, 2021 which was seconded by Sackin with a vote of all in favor.
Yeropoli made a motion to PAY THE PAYROLLS as prepared by Greco since the last month’s meeting. The motion was seconded by Sackin with a vote of all in favor.
TOWNSHIP REPORTS were given as follows:
ZONING prepared by Greco – reported 1 new home and 3 permits.
PLANNING – a meeting was needed but not enough members were able to attend.
FIRE DEPARTMENT – no report
POLICE DEPARTMENT – Chief Sipe reported for the month of December 114 incidents.
Yeropoli asked Greco for any CORRESPONDENCES in which Greco had none to share.
Yeropoli asked for any UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Nothing required discussion or action.
Yeropoli began NEW BUSINESS in which Pezzuolo acknowledged that Johnson Club for its large donation to the new K9 campaign drive. A better update will be given on the new K9 and funds raised after the new year.
Next Yeropoli made a motion to APPOINT FRANCIS EXPOSITO TO REPLACE HENRY PEZZUOLO AS A 4 YEAR TERM AN A TOWNSHIP AUDITOR. Pezzuolo seconded the motion with a vote of all in favor. Lou Perrotta, Esq. swore in Mr. Exposito.
Yeropoli noted the ANNUAL AUDITORS’ MEETING would be held Tuesday, January 4th at 6:00 p.m. The Auditor’s meeting to set the compensation of the supervisors who are employed full time by the Township.
Yeropoli noted the NEXT MEETING needs to be altered from the regular schedule as Pezzuolo is scheduled for surgery. The next meeting will be on February 1, 2022 which is the 1st Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will then be back to the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
Yeropoli asked if anything further needed to be address by those in attendance. Marcy Romano asked that the microphones are turned on when people are speaking.
Yeropoli made a motion to ADJOURN which was seconded by Pezzuolo with a vote of all in favor. The meeting adjourned at 10:32 a.m.
