MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 14, 2021 MONTHLY SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
The Mahoning Township Supervisors held
their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 immediately
following the 2022 Final Budget Meeting which was held at the Mahoning Township
Building. Chairman, Gary Pezzuolo called
the meeting to order indicating the pledge to the US Flag was done previously.
ROLL CALL was taken by Jean Greco, Secretary. Members present were Mark Sackin, Gary Pezzuolo,
and Vito Yeropoli. Also present was Solicitor Perrotta and Engineer Gregg
DelPrincipe.
Pezzuolo asked for
any guest speakers and/or guests to share their concerns. Resident Ed Klamer thanked the supervisors
for raising taxes to help with funding to be used towards the road conditions.
Pezzuolo asked for a motion to APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 9, 2021 PRELIMINARY BUDGET MEETING
which was made by Yeropoli and seconded by Sackin with a vote of all in favor. Pezzuolo next made a made a motion to APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 9, 2021
REGULAR MEETING which was and seconded by Sackin with a vote of all in
favor.
Pezzuolo asked for motion to PAY THE BILLS as prepared by Greco since the last month’s meeting. The motion was made by Yeropoli and seconded
by Pezzuolo with a vote of all in favor.
Pezzuolo made a motion to PAY
THE PAYROLLS as prepared by Greco since the last month’s meetinG and the
motion was made by Yeropoli with a vote of all in favor.
Pezzuolo asked
Greco for announcements in which Henry Pezzzuolo Jr announced his resignation
from current auditor position as he was elected for a new 6 year term beginning
in 2022.
Solicitor Perrotta
swore in Supervisor Mark Sackin for his new term as well as Henry Pezzuolo as noted
above.
TOWNSHIP REPORTS were given as follows:
ZONING
by Greco – 2 building permits to include a new resident and a cell tower
modification. No PLANNING was
reported; but, a meeting is needed for the end of this month. Poncho Exposito gave a FIRE DEPARTMENT
report. Greco shared the POLICE DEPARTMENT report with 155 incidents
for the month of November 2021.
Pezzuolo asked for discussion for
any UNFINISHED BUSINESS in which there was none.
Moving
onto NEW BUSINESS Pezzuolo made a MOTION FOR
RESOLUTION 2021 – 03 PENNDOT WINTER ROAD MAINTENANCE CONTRACT which was seconded by Yeropoli with a vote of all in favor.
The Township
Solicitor and Supervisors then went into Executive Session from 6:10 – 6:25
p.m. to discuss the next agenda items.
Pezzuolo
then asked for A MOTION TO
ADOPT ORDINANCE 1 – 2021 FOR MACHINE TAX to raise
the tax to $500 per machine which was made by Yeropoli and then seconded by
Sackin with a vote of all in favor.
Pezzuolo moved
onto ORDINANCE 2 – 2021 FOR A ZONING
CHANGE FOR A PROPOSED BUSINESS PART DISTRICT
which the planning committee would be meeting on later in the month. Pezzuolo made the motion which was seconded
by Yeropoli with a vote of all in favor.
Pezzuolo made
a MOTION TO ADOPT THE FINAL 2022 BUDGET
WITH A 1 MILL INCREASE Yeropoli seconded
the motion with a vote of all in favor.
Pezzuolo
then set the schedule for the UPCOMING MEETINGS with a special zoning hearing to be first on Monday, January 3, 2022 at
10:00 a.m. followed by the 2022 Annual Meeting and then the next regular meeting
at 10:15 and 10:30 a.m.
Pezzuolo asked for any OTHER
DISCUSSION which there was none.
There being nothing further Yeropoli
made a motion to ADJOURN which was seconded
by Sackin with a vote of all in favor.
