MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 10, 2021 MONTHLY SUPERVISORS’ MEETING
The Mahoning Township Supervisors held
their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. which
was help at the Mahoning Township Building.
Chairman, Gary Pezzuolo called the meeting to order by asking everyone
present to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag.
ROLL CALL was taken by Jean Greco, Secretary. Members present were Mark Sackin and Gary Pezzuolo.
Township Solicitor, Engineer, and Police Officer Hedland were also present. Supervisor Vito Yeropoli was absent.
Pezzuolo asked for
any guest speakers and/or guests to share their concerns.
Ed Klamer boldly expressed
concerns on the conditions of and the deterioration of the Township Roads. He asked for a tax to be implemented with
monies to be direct for road work only. Virginia
Phillips supported the idea 100% as did Randy Peace. Gregg Delprincipe noted it costs
approximately $250K to pave 1.5 miles of road.
Greco noted that 1 mill of a tax increase generates approximately $100 -
$125K in revenue.
It was agreed upon
with residents to better discuss this topic at the next month’s meeting and to
invite other residents to participate.
Mike Kushma asked
for help from the maintenance department to put a pipe in so he has access to
property he owns on Baird Road. Currently,
the only access is from a family members’ adjoining property which could be
sold in the future.
Anthony DeRose a
resident on Jacobson Road expressed concern of the condition of this road.
Pezzuolo made a motion to PAY THE BILLS as prepared by Greco since the last month’s meeting. Sackin
seconded the motion with a vote of all in favor. Pezzuolo asked for a motion to PAY THE PAYROLLS as prepared by Greco
since the last month’s meeting. The
motion was made by Sackin and seconded by Pezzuolo with a vote of all in favor.
TOWNSHIP
REPORTS were given as follows: ZONING by Greco – 5 permits, 1 demolition,
and 1 new residence. Greco further noted
there was no activity to report by the Planning Board. The POLICE
DEPARTMENT report by Officer Josh Sipe with196 total incidents for the
month of July 2021.
Pezzuolo asked for
discussion for any UNFINISHED BUSINESS in which there was none.
Pezzuolo
asked Greco for COMMUNICATIONS in which she noted
Pezzuolo reminded residents of the
next meeting date Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
There being nothing further at 6:250
p.m., Pezzuolo made a motion to ADJOURN
which was seconded by Sackin with a vote of all in favor.
